Getting started
What people most often want to know
Do I need to know which program I need?
No. Tell the team what is happening now, where you are, and what kind of help you are seeking. ICGH can help identify the most appropriate entry point.
What happens when I call?
A team member gathers basic information, reviews urgency and service needs, explains the referral or assessment process, and identifies what records or coverage information may be needed.
Does ICGH provide medication for opioid use disorder?
Yes. ICGH provides evidence-based medication services, including buprenorphine options when clinically appropriate, connected to counseling, psychiatry, peer support, pharmacy access, and recovery planning.
Can I receive care by telehealth?
Statewide low-barrier telehealth is available through Bupe.Online, subject to clinical appropriateness and current program requirements. Other telehealth options vary by service.
Does ICGH accept Medicaid or insurance?
Coverage varies by service, location, plan, eligibility, authorization, and current network participation. Call so staff can review the specific pathway before care begins.
Can a family member make a referral?
A family member may begin the inquiry or use the self-referral pathway. The person receiving care must participate in required clinical and consent processes unless another lawful arrangement applies.
How do professionals refer someone?
Hospitals, healthcare practices, courts, health departments, justice programs, and community organizations can use the agency referral form. Sea Level placement questions should also be discussed directly with inpatient intake.
What should I bring to Sea Level?
Call intake for the current packing and medication instructions before traveling. Requirements can vary according to level of care and individual circumstances.
Is ICGH only a rural-health organization?
No. ICGH serves rural and urban communities, beginning with its roots in Hickory and expanding through community clinics, inpatient care, mobile units, partnerships, housing, pharmacy access, and statewide telehealth.
What if this is an emergency?
Call 911 for immediate danger or a medical emergency. Call or text 988 for crisis support. Website forms and ordinary email are not emergency channels.
Still not sure where to begin?
Call ICGH or choose the referral pathway that best fits your situation.
